About
Lucas Souza
São Paulo, Brazil

I design the system where a brand becomes a product, and then I build it.

My background includes agency art direction and campaign production across print, retail, social, and e-mail. That work placed brand decisions in recurring, everyday use.

Brand systems, product interfaces, and front-end are part of the same practice. Visual decisions are tested in use, and repeated patterns become rules, components, and code. AI is part of the process.

Craft

Image-making is part of the product work.

Social media pieces across several brands

Compositing and retouching in Photoshop, vector construction in Illustrator, campaign and social pieces where copy and layout were decided together.

I use the same craft in product screens that rely on imagery and in brand systems where applications inform the specification.

It runs through much of the work in this portfolio.

How the work connects

One system for brand and product.

Brand and implementation often sit with different people. The design system connects them by carrying the same decisions from identity into interface.

The manual and the product tokens are defined together, in the same design process.
